What is promotion
and public policy?

When we talk about promotion, we mean both visibility and popularization. Where our technology watch brings information back to the experts, we are keen to make local initiatives shine on the international stage, and also to promote understanding of technologies to the ecosystems that use information and communications technologies.

Even beyond the growing importance of digital literacy, emerging technologies are often based on little-understood and sometimes complex scientific concepts. Fostering adoption means exposing our Quebec ecosystems to these concepts, or to alternative ways of using technologies.

Public policy plays an essential role in technological innovation. It is they who are responsible for producing laws and frameworks for emerging technologies.

However, our government representatives can’t be experts in every field, so it’s vital to facilitate the conversation with businesses and support them in identifying new disruptive technologies, so that the planned frameworks take account of the realities of the sector.
