By acting as a link between stakeholders in this ecosystem and the industries that take part in our projects, Numana largely supports the development and adoption of cutting-edge technologies and disruptive models.

Who makes up
the innovation
ecosystem?

All stakeholders in the technological and social innovation ecosystem collaborate on our projects and contribute their expertise and innovation networks to our Think Tanks and laboratories.

  • Governments and public agencies

    The various levels of government are our main partners, and we work closely with them to secure funding and advance projects that accelerate the adoption and development of emerging technologies. They also help us ensure that our impact projects are impartial and open to local businesses.

  • Technology suppliers

    Technology product and service suppliers of all sizes actively participate in our activities either to promote their work on our projects or to master these soon-to-market technologies and develop appropriate solutions to the problems identified by our Think Tanks.

  • Research centres and universities

    The skills and expertise deployed in our projects mainly reside at research centres, universities and CEGEPs. These institutions are also on the front line when it comes to understanding the training needs of technological and social innovation ecosystems.

  • Incubators and accelerators

    These organizations support startups and innovative companies as they grow by providing resources, mentoring and access to networks.

  • Industry associations and clusters

    We work with industry associations and not-for-profit organizations to connect with the companies in an industry. This relationship allows us to better understand the needs of their communities and involve their innovation networks in our initiatives.

    Our end partners are large corporations, SMEs and startups, as they are the main drivers behind the adoption of social and technological innovation. They are linchpins in our activities to develop products and services in our neutral and open environments.

Numana's unique role as a macro-accelerator

As a macro-accelerator, our main goal is to serve as an incubator, accelerator or catalyst to develop broader ecosystems instead of individual companies. Our process requires the support of a broad spectrum of different stakeholders, from companies to public organizations. Our role is to build bridges between everyone involved in our activities while helping them go at their pace and addressing their concerns.

How Numana connects
and supports the ecosystem

The Numana process

Numana takes a unifying, cross-sector approach in all of its solutions to create connections and foster collaboration. From our Think Tanks of industry experts to our living labs, we support digital transformation and innovation by facilitating partnerships and technology adoption. This support can be as simple as a formal presentation between ecosystem stakeholders or as complex as a project conducted through our real-life experimentation environment or through Symbiotiq, our online marketplace.

At events that we organize throughout the year, the stakeholders in our ecosystems can meet on a wider scale to discover our activities and technology applications beyond their usual sphere of activity.

This is what drives our process: encouraging our partners to be curious, to look to the future and to anticipate unexpected developments in their sector.

We support them in these transitions through technology intelligence reports and talks and webinars that can make what can be very heady subjects that much easier to understand.

Numana harnesses the expertise of innovation scouts, who provide alerts on future innovations through our strategic intelligence and Think Tanks. Our projects therefore not only foster resilience but also support the digital transformation of organizations in our ecosystem by allowing them to experiment with cutting-edge technologies and models.

To avoid knowledge gaps, our innovation scouts keep a foot in different ecosystems, i.e., those we are already involved in, those that could benefit from our projects in the near future and those that we are not yet connected to.
